Bartender - Hearthstone

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving beverages and food items to guests in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring exceptional guest experiences at all times. This role includes maintaining compliance with state and federal alcohol regulations, managing bar operations, and supporting an inviting and well-organized lounge/bar environment.

JOB EXPECTATIONS:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Verify guest identification to confirm legal drinking age.
  • Present menus, answer guest inquiries, and take accurate food and beverage orders.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty drinks
  • Monitor lounge/bar seating and ensure prompt and attentive service to all guests.
  • Accurately compute bills, process payments, and balance sales receipts at the end of each shift.
  • Manage guest alcohol consumption responsibly, discontinuing service when appropriate and notifying management of potential concerns.
  • Clean and maintain bar areas, equipment, utensils, and glassware to health and sanitation standards.
  • Restock and organize bar and kitchen stations at the end of each shift
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and controlling day-to-day bar operations.
  • Slice fruit and prepare garnishes; arrange bottles and glassware for appealing displays.
  • Ensure all tips are accurately reported for payroll and tax processing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Three (3) to six (6) months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations).
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and remain composed in emotional or high-pressure situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage guest interactions with professionalism, respect, and courtesy
  • Familiarity with company policies, procedures, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety and security protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to meet scheduling demands, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, based on business needs.
  • At least 21 years of age.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces. 
  • Physical ability and stamina to stand for long hours.
  • Physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time.


WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
